Investing in local programs is a big part of what we do, but things are not business as usual within the organization as we strive to make changes that will enhance our work and ensure real, lasting progress is made. Here’s a glimpse into what we’re doing:
Days of Caring
Last year’s Day of Caring project at Catherwood Home Childcare inspired even greater ambitions that required us to rethink how we do the annual event. Enter “Days of Caring.” Volunteers pitched in throughout September to continue last year’s improvements at Catherwood in an even bigger way. The month-long project wrapped up on September 29 and the hard work of more than 80 volunteers was clear to see. This was a true community effort and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Another event that has grown as a result of last year’s success is Community Connect. Community
Connect is a one-day event that brings together local organizations and essential resources so that
services are more accessible to those who need them. Community Connect will be held on November 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Austin High School. If you’d like to participate as a service provider or volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
2018-2019 Community Campaign
The 2018-2019 Community Campaign kicked off on September 29 with a celebration at Catherwood. This
year’s ambitious goal reflects the growing community need and our confidence in the caring power of those who call Mower County home. Visit www.uwmower.org/campaign to see our goal and learn how you can make a difference.
United Way fights for the education, health, financial stability, and basic needs of every person in our community. With your help, we can do even more. Visit www.uwmower.org.
